Jim an Judy Nowland

My wife, Judy and I suffered for many years coping with a family member addicted to heroin. We researched, studied
and tried to work through this problem on our own only to fail time and time again. This pattern continued for several
years, until we learned to get out of Gods way and let him do His “perfect work”.
We often wondered why God would let this happen in our family. The answer was simple, as our daughter stated, “why not?”
God not only showed us how to cope with this heart ache, but how to have joy in the midst of it.
In November of 2007, God decided it was not enough for Judy and me to have peace with our own family situation.
There were so many others who were suffering and needed help. People with various types of backgrounds some religious
and some not.
We opened the doors of the recovery program that night and have been able to minister to over fifty people so far. God has
allowed us to see some marvelous victories, but has kept us humble in the face of adversity. We thank God for choosing us to
minister to these wonderful people. All praise goes to Him.
P. S. Our Family member now has 11 months clean and is doing very well. PRAISE
GOD!
